Ear Itching

What causes such intense ear itching? I'll be sitting here like normal, then suddenly an ear itch I can barely stand. So I need to scratch it equally intensely.

I'm afraid I might be screwing up my ears with all the scratching and attention to it. As to what happens when you screw up your ears, I don't know. I still hear really well.

I was at a place and someone was recommending some kind of ear cleaning with a wax stick or something. That sounded a little too drastic to me. I looked it up on the internet and plenty of sites said it didn't really do any good.

I just wish I knew the source of the sudden itching. Like going from 0 to 60 mph in two seconds.

Targeting Baucus

I personally am sick and tired of Democratic traitors. You expect a lot of corruption and special interests out of the Republicans. But we've had health care reform as a part of our platform and agenda for decades.

Montana Senator Max Baucus is an obstructionist and needs to change his ways. I'm glad to see some of the progressive interest groups are trying to kick him in the butt to do the right thing.

We elected President Obama to get some things done, including good health care reform. C'mon, Baucus, get with the program.

Medicare

Just was reading about Obama's first budget. I like this paragraph, from the Washington Post:
Administration officials also are debating whether to permit people as young as 55 to purchase coverage through Medicare. That age group is particularly vulnerable in today's weakened economy, as many have lost jobs or seen insurance premiums rise rapidly. The cost would depend on whether recipients were offered a discount or required to pay the full price of coverage.
That's not much to go on but I like the general idea. Insurance premiums are crazy, beyond crazy. It would be so much better to have some expansion of Medicare to help pool costs or whatever. When you're old you're a slave to the insurance companies and their whims. It's ridiculous. Just because time passes doesn't mean premiums should naturally go up and benefits go down.

Fear and Patheticness

How to lose your fear and patheticness in a few minutes.

What's that creeping vine that wiggles through your system, giving you gray hair and age spots? It must have a name. Adam gave names to all the animals. And while it's not technically an animal, it's separate enough in your mind to have a name. Let's not worry about the name. The experts have a name for it and they have a program for either losing it or cashing in on your inability to ever lose it.

Patheticness is what I'm calling it, although the spell checker doesn't seem to think that's a word. It says it all. Fear and P. But there's a flash of insight that's always waiting for you to say, vamoose, be gone, ye dog. It's kind of like forgetfulness, then there's a flash of memory. All down, creeping, crawling, nastiness of mental baggage, eye baggage, taking over, letting you have it. And it you don't want.

You just need to suddenly realize a few things. One, you're alive and there's no apologies needed. Two, there's not really any separation from you and life itself, whatever life itself is. Three, the way you see your life is the result of thought. Change your thinking to celebrate the moment instead of dreading it. Seize on little things of delight, delighting in everything. Four, know that mentally all things are possible. This doesn't take all night, it's right this minute. I might think I need to pray all night like a monk in an attic. But the answer to your prayer is as close as right this second.
